Questions? No worry, I have answers.

  • Which services are covered by insurance?

I accept insurance only (through Headway) for Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I) and Brief Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (BBTI).

Longer-term therapy and trauma-focused services (EMDR and CPT) are offered through Lyra EAP or private pay.

    CBT-I Insurance Coverage
Texas & Florida: Aetna, Horizon BCBS of New Jersey, Lyra EAP, and United Healthcare (Optum).
    Vermont: Lyra EAP only.

Coverage depends on your specific plan and medical-necessity criteria; benefits are not guaranteed and are verified before scheduling.

Important: I am not in network with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas. Some clients with BCBS plans from other states may access BCBS of Texas providers through the BlueCard program, but I do not fall into that category. My name may still appear in outdated directories from when I was previously credentialed with BCBS of Texas.

  • What's the difference between CBT-I and BBTI?

Both are evidence-based treatments for insomnia. CBT-I is the full protocol (typically 6–8 sessions). BBTI is a brief, behavior-focused version (often 4 sessions).

    What does BBTI focus on?
The core behavioral steps: a consistent wake time, a structured sleep window, and a clear “what to do when you’re awake” plan.

When is CBT-I a better fit?
When insomnia is more persistent or complex, especially with significant worry/rumination, irregular schedules, or when you want more relapse-prevention work.

  • I do not have insurance or you are not in-network with my insurance; how much do sessions cost?

    Session cost (Self-Pay): $154 (55 minutes).

BBTI (Self-Pay) is a structured 4-visit program consisting of two 55-minute sessions and two 30-minute check-ins.

    Pay-as-you-go option: $154 / 55 minutes and $77 / 30 minutes (total $462 if paid per visit).
Program price: $399 when reserved as a program. If you end early, unused visits are refunded at the program’s prorated visit rates.

Note: Program pricing is for self-pay only. Insurance/EAP sessions are billed per session, according to plan rules and benefits.

I work with a company called Mentaya that calculates out-of-network benefits and submits your out-of-network claims to your insurance provider. Reimbursement depends on your plan; Mentaya can help submit claims, but benefits are not guaranteed.

  • Where are sessions offered?

I offer in-person sessions in Sugar Land, Texas, and telehealth sessions in Texas, Florida, and Vermont.

  • My schedule is hectic. Do you offer evening or weekend sessions?

Yes, I’ve got you. I know what it’s like to run all over the place and not have time to fit therapy into your busy schedule.
